3:29 p.m.: We're heading down to the underbelly of Dolphins Stadium following the nine-play drive that was capped by Willis McGahee's touchdown run makes the score 27-13 Ravens.  Impressive march that utilized a variety of screen passes to keeep the defense honest.  Willis really had to drag a few tacklers over the goal line for the score.

Keep it locked right here for all your post-game coverage on BR.com.  Thanks again for reading, and apologize for the technical problems with the blog.

------

3:14 p.m.: Ball security.  The Ravens had preached it all week, but the message did not ring true for WIllis McGahee.  McGahee took a screen pass for a critical first-down conversion to get into the red zone, but he coughed it up when he was tackled from behind.  That was after Joe Flacco fumbled but was ruled down.

The Ravens definitely have the Dolphins pinned now, but wouldn't it be nice if those were points, instead?

-----

2:49 p.m.:  OK, we're back online.  The Dolphins just scored on a touchdown pass to rookie Davone Bess - his first of his career - to pull within seven points.  It's going to be a battle from here on out.

I'm also pretty amazed at the amount of Ravens fans here.  The stadium, which is sparsley populated, by the way, has a pretty strong contingent off Baltimore supporters.  I've seen Tony Siragusa jerseys, Ray Lewis jerseys and Ed Reed jerseys.  They definitely make their presence known when Todd Heap made each one of his three catches, screaming "Heeeeeap!" for the tight end.

------

2:14 p.m.: MAJOR technical dificulties have postponed what we can do with the ol' gameday blog, but we're back just in time to tell you that tight end Todd Heap now has exactly 4,000 career receiving yards.

On the drive, Joe Flacco hits Derrick Mason for a touchdown pass just before the halftime break. 17-6 Ravens.  Remember, the Ravens had a 10-point lead at halftime last year in Miami, and the game ended up being a big "L".  Stay tuned for what's to come, because there's still a lot of football left.

Oh, and Baltimore got the benefit of Terrell Suggs' first -career touchdown on a pick-six.  It's a defensive battle here in Miami, but that's what the Ravens like. More to come.

-------

1:28 p.m.: The Ravens' defense staves off some Miami momentum in the red zone, oinly allowing a field goal from Dan Carpenter.  The, the Ravens come back with a great 12-play drive that spans 42 yards.  It is culminated in a 47-yard field goal by Matt Stover.  Tie game, 3 all.

It was intriguing to see rookie Ray Rice start over Willis McGahee, however.  McGahee only came in midway through the march, and it was basically on third down to block.

Additionally, Chris McAlister did not start.  Instead, Fabain Washington and Frank Walker each got the nod.  CMac is suited up, though.

Thoughts about the Ravens' first drive...

- The Dolphins are selling out to put pressure on Joe Flacco.  And with a makeshift Ravens offensive line, Miami is having success.  Joey Porter gets another sack, making it 7.5 for his season.  With so much pressure up front, that could make for some opportunities down the field.

- Ray Rice is running hard.  He may not be piching up huge yards, but he is stiff-arming tacklers all over the place.

- Demetrius Williams' push-off penalty in the end zone was a little touchy.  It wasn't like he shoved the Dolphins defender.  Williams could have had the catch, but he didn't hold on.

Injury Update: Dolphins nose guad Jason Ferguson has a ribs injury and is questionable for a return.

-------

12:30 p.m.: It's a little late on the start of BR.com's official game-day blog, but that was due to some trechnical difficulties inside the Dolphin Stadium's press box.  If I may, here are some notes and observations from around the bowl:

- It's about 75 degrees.  Not too hot, not too chilly.  Just.... temperate.  Looks like the darkk purple jerseys Baltimore is wearing won't be an issue with the heat.

- The stadium is about empty at this point.  Not really empty, but definitely less than half full. And, there are a few Ravens jerseys around here.  I'll bet those are fans of Miami alumns Ray Lewis, Ed Reed and Willis McGahee.  I know for a fact that Willis has family at this game.

- Don't forget to stay tuned to the BR.com media player for my pre-game interview with Andy Kent of MiamiDolphins.com.  In it, he talks about the Dolphins' Wildcat formation and how Miami can stop the run.

Did you see that Todd Bouman is the Ravens' third quarterback?  THat means that Troy Smith is officially the second signal-caller on the roster.  He's offically moved into the top backup role.

OK, the 'Fins are setting up their giant inflatable entranceway, and more fans are trickling into the stands.  We're ready to go here in south Florida.  Hasta luego, mis amigos.
