In his opening two series, QB Joe Flacco produced a perfect 158.3 quarterback rating, completing 7 of 8 passes for 106 yards and one touchdown. On the Ravens' second drive, Flacco connected with WR Kelley Washington on a 42-yard bomb, which ultimately set up TE Todd Heap's 9-yard scoring catch. Flacco finished the game 23-of-28 for 247 yards and one touchdown (115.3 QB rating). He completed passes to seven different receivers, including eight balls to RB Ray Rice (67 yards) and six tosses to WR Derrick Mason (71 yards).

WR Derrick Mason recorded a first-half-high five catches for 61 yards (12.2 ypc). His longest grab came as a 26-yard strike on the Ravens' third drive of the game, helping set up RB Willis McGahee's 1-yard scoring plunge.

RB Ray Rice registered 80 total yards from scrimmage on 15 touches in the opening half. The second-year Rutgers alum pulled in six catches for 55 yards (9.2 ypc) and rushed nine times for 25 yards. Rice made his third consecutive start of the preseason. |
LB Ray Lewis
“As a defense, we are just clicking right now. That's what's most exciting, the way we are clicking both offensively and defensively. The bottom line is that everyone is lining up and playing fast. We're all playing well right now.
“Anytime you're a veteran in this game, you're trying to get your wind and get your football conditioning in. Whatever you trained for this offseason, you want to make sure you're ready to make it count when those live bullets starting firing.”
QB Joe Flacco
“We were in a groove. The only disappointment is that we didn't come away with a touchdown on that first drive. They got us to jump offsides, and we can't let that happen. If you take away those stupid penalties, you'll probably have three touchdowns and a field goal. That puts us at 24 points, and that's what we have to work for. We had some great drives. I felt really good, and we felt like we were in a good rhythm. Anytime you're out there putting together drives like that, it feels good.”
TE Todd Heap
“We felt good tonight. We did a lot of things that we wanted to do and accomplish. It was important to set the tempo for our offense and for our defense. If we could have gotten rid of a couple costly penalties, we really would have accomplished everything we wanted. If we eliminate those penalties, I think we'll be right where we want to be.”
“Our offensive line was firing off the ball today. The receivers were making big plays down the field, and the running backs were making catches underneath. Everybody was making plays, and I feel like we're right where we want to be.”
Head Coach John Harbaugh
“We're playing well at times and building to do that consistently. It's obvious, too, that we have plenty of things we can do better and we can work on.
“We gave up seven points by not scoring on the first drive, and that's disappointing. Then we don't convert the field goal. Not good, but that's a learning experience for some of the young players.”
Defensive Coordinator Greg Mattison
“We let them have the long pass up the middle [to TE Jeff King] on their scoring drive, but we did hold them out of the end zone. I liked the way we bounced back that series.”
On rushing the passer: “One thing we did well in the first half is put pressure on [Jake] Delhomme with our front four. Clarence's [Brooks] group did a good job.”
Offensive Coordinator Cam Cameron
On the Ravens' tempo and QB Joe Flacco: “Our tempo was good in the first half. Joe [Flacco] was solid and did a good job of getting us in and out of the huddle quickly.”
On finishing in the red zone: “You have to score when you get inside the 5 [-yard line]. Just watch the ball when it's noisy down there. That's a live and learn situation for a young player.”
