Ngata's Rumble Fan Favorite
Leading up to training camp and the start of the 2007 season, BaltimoreRavens.com is taking a look back at the success of 2006, and we need your help. Last week, you voted on your favorite interception of the campaign.
In a near-photo finish, Haloti Ngata's 60-yard rumble against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers edged out the Samari Rolle/Ed Reed tag team touchdown against the Cincinnati Bengals, taking home 34.86 percent of the vote to Rolle and Reed's 34.79 percent.
Even though he didn't score on his runback, watching Ngata's 340-pound frame chug his way down the field was a sight for the ages. With that run, the Ravens' 2006 first-round draft pick was burst on the scene as a big-time playmaker.
Falling into the rankings was Chris McAlister's interception late into a Week 3 matchup with the Cleveland Browns that squashed a potential game-winning drive (14.74 percent), then-rookies Dawan Landry and Ronnie Prude each scoring on picks in New Orleans (8.74), and McAlister crossing the goal line in the season finale against Buffalo (6.87).
This week, stay tuned for your chance to vote on the best hit of 2006 from the NFL's top-ranked defense.
