Hey everybody! Thanks for coming back to read the RavensSpirit blog. It’s been a big week for the Ravens players and the cheerleaders. Some of us were on hand at last Monday’s “A Purple Evening” at M&T Bank Stadium for the women’s club. First of all, I have to commend the organization on having an event like that and reaching out to an audience that most NFL teams probably wouldn’t reach out to.

It seemed like there were thousands of women there, and they were all basically representing the Ravens with their jerseys on and wearing the purple and black. I thought it was almost like a game day, but just for the women.

We were happy to represent the team at the stadium. To our surprise, a lot of the women did want our autographs. They really wanted the players’, but it was great that they showed us support, as well. I also did a little bit with Filene’s Basement, working with their raffle. It was interesting to see the different sponsors that were there - like Smyth Jewelers and others - that were geared towards women. I think that shows how the Baltimore community is supporting this project, too.

For the game last weekend, I watched it at my place. The only thing I have to say about that game is, “A win is a win.” wink.gif It was tough to watch, and I got really nervous at the end when the 49ers swere kicking that field goal, but other than that it was a good game. I think we still have a little ways to go, but I trust the boys will get it together.

We’ve got something great in store for you this weekend. The Ravens’ Cheerleaders are actually going to perform at halftime of the game. This is the first time we’ve performed as the halftime show in years, so we are all really excited.

For us, we’re usually in the locker room at halftime, but all the girls will be out there performing on Sunday. Typically, we only get to perform after the first and third quarters, so this is really a big deal for us. Those routines are only about 1:30, so with a full three minutes, it’s going to be a lot of fun. You guys are really in for a treat.

We’ve been working very hard, but I have to let the fans know that we learned this on Tuesday! We’re definitely prepared, but that just shows how hard we’re working. I really know that I’m working with a talented group of ladies.

Needless to say, Thursday’s practice is going to big. I’m looking forward to a very tough practice to close out the week, and we’ll be ready for Sunday - I know it!

I hope everybody enjoys this weekend’s performance, and especially hope we all enjoy a Ravens win over the Rams. Thanks for reading again, and I’ll talk to you next week.

Go Ravens!
