Ravens in the Community: Week 5
Even on their day off, the Ravens are busy. Many players spend their Tuesdays in and around Baltimore-area communities, and here is a look at what went on this week:
Sandtown Habitat for Humanity
Also today, the Lady Ravens Association joined linebackers Edgar Jones and Antwan Barnes for the team's weekly visit to Sandtown Habitat for Humanity. The group worked with volunteers to refurbish homes. Ravens players, cheerleaders and 20-30 volunteers started work on several houses on Sept. 11 and will continue to work each Tuesday until Oct. 9, the annual NFL/United Way Hometown Huddle.
Celebrity Pool Challenge
The tables were full at the Valley Mansion in Cockeysville, Md., where center Mike Flynn, quarterback Troy Smith, return specialist Yamon Figurs and tight end Quinn Sypniewski joined the Celebrity Pool Challenge to support the Carson Scholarship Fund. Other celebrities in attendance were actor Michael Keaton, former Pittsburgh Steeler Jerome Bettis, former Raven Michael McCrary and trick shot artist Ewa "The Striking Viking" Laurence.
