Ravens in the Community: Week 7
Even on their day off, the Ravens are busy. Many players spend their Tuesdays in and around Baltimore-area communities, and here is a look at what went on this week:
The Baltimore Ravens and the American Heart Association kicked off a 10-week pilot program Tuesday as part of the national NFL What Moves U campaign, designed to promote physical fitness and healthy living among an increasingly inactive generation of children.
To launch the 2007 campaign, the Ravens created a What Moves U pilot program in partnership with middle school principals and physical education teachers. The program is designed to guide children through 10 weeks of becoming more active and healthy.
To mark the beginning of the What Moves U pilot program, the AHA and the Ravens are holding two kickoff events with What Moves U team representative Mark Clayton, and teammate Ed Reed, along with Reed's fitness coach Monte Sanders, plus cheerleaders.
Reed started the day at Lime Kiln Middle School in Fulton, Md., while Clayton joined students at West Middle School in Westminster, Md. in the afternoon.
