Three weeks from when it was revealed quarterback Steve McNair was suffering from an injury in his non-throwing shoulder, the Ravens placed the 13-year veteran on Injured Reserve.

Kicker Rhys Lloyd was called up from the practice squad for Baltimore's Monday Night Football matchup with the New England Patriots.

The Ravens will start Kyle Boller at quarterback for the third consecutive game. Boller came in for McNair in the fourth quarter of the Ravens' Week 10 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals and has started since, going 43-of-74 for 470 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions over the past two contests.

McNair will have surgery Tuesday, leaving Boller and fifth-round draft choice Troy Smith as the only signal callers on the Ravens' roster.
