Press Release - Mason and Boldin Host Sixth Annual Holiday Helpers Event

Ravens WRs Derrick Mason and Anquan Boldin will host the Sixth Annual Holiday Helpers event Thursday (12/16) at the Pikesville Target. Together with their charitable foundations, the players donated a total of $10,000 to provide 60 Baltimore-area youth with Target gift certificates for a holiday shopping spree.

The players will join several of their teammates and Ravens cheerleaders to serve as personal shoppers for the children. To add to the entertainment, the Ravens’ mascot Poe, and a karaoke DJ will be in attendance as well.

In addition to the gift certificates, the children will receive a pre-shopping pizza party donated by Papa John’s, a Holiday Helpers t-shirt, a keepsake photo with their personal shopper, and a gift bag, including items from the Ravens and Target.

The Derrick Mason Foundation was established to provide at-risk children and families in the Nashville area with opportunities to pursue their dreams. The foundation’s reach has included the Baltimore area since Mason joined the Ravens in 2005. The foundation provides interactive programs and events that directly benefit children who face serious challenges in their lives such as mental and/or physical challenges or the environment in which they live.

The Anquan Boldin Foundation, established in 2004, is dedicated to expanding the educational and life opportunities of underprivileged children. Charitable work has been concentrated in Florida and Arizona, but now also includes the Baltimore area. The core services of the Anquan Boldin Foundation are to support after-school programs, full-time scholarships with the support of the University of Phoenix and dental care and food programs.
