Ted Hendricks began his 15-year pro football career in 1969 as a second-round draft pick of the Baltimore Colts in the AFL-NFL Draft. Hendricks played strong and fast, never letting up on a single tackle. His height also allowed him to specialize in blocking field goals, extra point attempts and punts. Hendricks retired from the NFL in 1983 as the league leader with 215 consecutive games played – 70 as a Colt, the rest with Green Bay and Oakland.
