Chad Alexander

Chad Alexander has covered the Midwest for the Ravens for the past 2 years. Alexander scouts schools from the Big Ten, Conference USA and some schools in the MAC and Big 12 conferences. Along with personnel assistant Roy Anderson, Chad annually represents the Ravens at the NFL Draft at Radio City Music Hall in New York City.

1999-2007: (with Baltimore) 2007: Three players from Chad’s area were selected by the Ravens in the NFL Draft: G/T Marshall Yanda (3rd round) from Iowa, the 2006 Heisman Trophy winner and Ohio State QB Troy Smith (5th round) and Michigan’s LB Prescott Burgess (6th round)...Chad is also responsible for giving reports on the wideout position, viewing tape and ranking all the receivers considered “draftable” by the Ravens. 2003-2005: Spent 2 years as the team’s West area scout…During that time, the Ravens picked a number of players from Chad’s area, including 2003 Defensive Rookie of the Year Terrell Suggs and starting WR Mark Clayton. 1999-2002: Worked with the pro personnel staff to scout free agents and assisted with advance scouting reports of Ravens opponents...Also monitored NFL practice squads, ranking players for potential signings...Scouted colleges in the fall, visiting a number of campuses across the country for cross-checking duties. 1999: Joined the Ravens as a pro personnel assistant.

COLLEGE: Played fullback at Wake Forest 4 years...Earned a degree in communications.

PERSONAL: Worked for a year at an elementary school for children with behavioral disorders in Minneapolis, MN…Was an All-District football selection at Coppell (TX) HS...Also ran track for the Coppell Cowboys...Son of Hubbard Alexander, a former NFL WRs coach who won 2 championships while coaching receivers at the University of Miami (1983, 1987) and 3 while coaching the Dallas Cowboys’ receivers (1992, 1993 & 1995).
