Jeremiah Washburn is in his 3rd year as the Ravens’ area scout for the Southwest. Washburn covers schools from the Big 12, SEC, WAC and Conference USA. Washburn works with Ravens Northeast area scout Joe Douglas to organize and coordinate the post-draft free agent signing process. Assigned the linebacker position, he views tape and ranks all the LBs considered “draftable” by the Ravens. His father is Tennessee Titans D-Line coach Jim Washburn.
2003-07: (with Baltimore) 2005-07: Baltimore selected WR/RS Yamon Figurs (3rd, Kansas State) in the ‘07 draft, G/C Chris Chester (2nd, Oklahoma) and P Sam Koch (6th, Nebraska) in the ‘06 draft, and WR Mark Clayton (1st, Oklahoma) and OLB Dan Cody (2nd, Oklahoma) in ‘05, all of whom were from Washburn’s scouting area. 2003-04: Spent 2 seasons with the team as a player personnel assistant...Assisted in pro scouting (some advance scouting of upcoming opponents, unrestricted free agents, NFL Europa and other free agents), and assisting college scouting director Eric DeCosta in preparation for the NFL Draft by doing cross-checks for schools on the East Coast.
2002: (with Carolina) Started his NFL career with the Panthers as a football operations assistant.
COLLEGE: Was a 3-year guard on the Arkansas offensive line...The international economics major was a 2-year graduate assistant for the Razorbacks’ athletic department while earning his MBA.
PERSONAL: Jeremiah’s father, Jim, has been the defensive line coach for the Tennessee Titans since 1999...Washburn attended Shelby (NC) HS...Jeremiah and his wife, Susan, live with their daughter, Ally (5), and their son, Andrew (3), in Frisco, TX.
