| Hey kids and Ravens fans alike! Baltimore's number one mascot here! I don't know about you, but Summer is the longest season of them all for me. Part of the reason is because it gets so hot, but I think it's mainly because I know football season is right around the corner and I just can't wait for kickoff! To help pass the time, I love to read while stopping by to visit my friends at local libraries. Check below for the books I'm reading and read along with me this summer! |
| Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus by Mo Willems This book is a favorite of mine because it features a member of the bird family–a pigeon. The very best part of this book is that it's up to me to tell the pigeon he can't drive the bus! Oh, he begged me. He pleaded with me. He pouted like a baby until I could hardly stand it, and he stomped his talons over and over and over. But no matter what that pigeon did, I held my ground, and wouldn't let him drive the bus! Doesn't this silly pigeon know that birds can't drive? | ||
| Henry and Mudge and the Tumbling Trip by Cynthia Rylant I love this book because it involves two of my favorite things–other then the Ravens of course. Those two things are adventures and friendship! Henry takes his best friend, his humongous dog Mudge, on family vacation with him. Together, as a team, these two best buddies head out to the wild, wild west. Henry and Mudge chase tumbles weeds, visit the Grand Canyon, and even get to meet cowboys. I don't know why they were so excited to meet Dallas Cowboys, but they sure seemed to enjoy it. As vacation draws to an end, the two friends begin to miss home. Once back home, Henry and his furry sidekick Mudge learn there is as much adventure on the front porch as there is anywhere in the world! | ||
| Buster Hunts for Dinosaurs by Marc Brown Reading this book taught me a very important lesson. That lesson is that, even though they don't play pro football in Utah, it can still be an exciting place to visit! I never knew of a rabbit who hunted for dinosaurs before I read about Buster. As this white-haired little fellow digs for ancient dinosaur bones, he makes new friends, learns that oceans once covered the land, and he even uncovers real dinosaur tracks that are millions of years old! I used to think Jonathan Ogden was the biggest thing to ever walk the earth, but Buster has shown me otherwise! | ||
