With Halloween around the corner, members of the Baltimore Ravens not only got into the spirit of the season, but in some cases, got into full costume and character, as the team ventured out into the community.
The Baltimore Ravens “went wild” at the Maryland Zoo in Baltimore for the Ravens 2009 Hometown Huddle. Six players joined 114 local fourth graders for “The Amazing Race – Ravens Style” solving clues and getting active as they navigated through the zoo.
The Ravens finalized their eight-man practice squad with the signing of tight end Isaac Smolko. But even though the team made the appropriate roster moves last weekend by trimming 22 players to get the active list down to 53 and rounding out the developmental unit, the Ravens may not be finished tinkering just yet.
The Ravens finally cut down to their 53-man roster by the NFL-mandated 6 p.m. deadline on Saturday, Sept. 5. And it looks like Steve Hauschka is going to be the kicker for the 2009 campaign. Now, Baltimore will look to the free-agent market to see if any teams released players that are talented enough to add depth at offensive tackle or wide receiver.
