For the sixth time in nine games and the third time in four, the Baltimore Ravens are on the road. This time it's a bus trip for the Ravens, who play at the Washington Redskins this Sunday, Dec. 9. Game time at FedExField is 1 p.m. ET. The Ravens, winners of four of their last five games, take a 9-3 record into the contest. The Redskins are 6-6 and own a three-game winning streak after beating the New York Giants, 17-16, on Monday Night Football.
Last Sunday, for the seventh time in the last eight regular season games they've competed, the Ravens and Steelers played a game decided by three points. This time Pittsburgh won, 23-20, at M&T Bank Stadium, stopping a 16-game (with playoffs) Ravens' home winning streak. The contest was tied three times, including at 20-20, before Steelers K Shaun Suisham ended the game with his winning 42-yard field goal. The Ravens had not lost at M&T Bank Stadium since Dec. 5, 2010, when the Steelers won 13-10. Pittsburgh QB Charlie Batch was impressive, completing 25 of 36 passes for 276 yards, including the game-tying (20-20), fourth-quarter touchdown throw to TE Heath Miller.
With four games remaining, the Ravens own a two-game lead over the 7-5 Steelers and Bengals in the tough AFC North. The Bengals, who have won four in a row, beat the Chargers (20-13) in San Diego last Sunday, while the 4-8 Browns won at Oakland (20-17).
After the road trip to Washington, the Ravens return to M&T Bank Stadium for games against the Broncos (Dec. 16) and Giants (Dec. 23). Baltimore completes the regular season at Cincinnati on Dec. 30.

Mike Shanahan: This marks Shanahan's third season as the Redskins' executive VP/head coach, having produced a 17-27 record. In his 19th season as an NFL head coach, he owns a 163-125 regular season record. During his 27-year NFL career, he has been a part of teams that have played in 10 conference title games and have appeared in six Super Bowls. He led Denver to consecutive Super Bowl victories in 1997-98.
