When talking with reporters Wednesday in the Ravens’ locker room, the veteran receiver was asked how Sunday will be different than last year.
“Because we’ll make it different,” Boldin responded.
How will they make it different?
“We’ll win,” Boldin said plainly.
Boldin, a no-nonsense kind of player, is one-for-one on his predictions this season.
He guaranteed that the Ravens would win the AFC North in the midst of their three-game slide earlier this year, and that ended up coming to fruition in Week 16.
Boldin also had a similar statement after beating the Colts in the wild-card round to secure a meeting with the top-seeded Denver. Boldin was asked why he thought the playoff game in Denver would be different than the Ravens’ 34-17 regular-season loss to the Broncos.
“We’ll make it different,” he said then.
Given the way last season ended, Boldin said that the sting of last year’s AFC championship loss stuck with them coming into this year.
“Disappointed, heartbroken, all of the above,” he said. “It’s a feeling that we took into the offseason definitely.”
Now Boldin said the Ravens are excited to have another chance to match up against the Patriots.
“Really looking forward to it,” he said. “I think everybody in this locker room, especially the guys who were on the team last year, has been looking forward to it."
