Arthur Jones Gets 'Amazing News' On Illness

Posted Sep 7, 2013

DE Arthur Jones reportedly has a viral infection near his heart, but could play soon.

Defensive end Arthur Jones is one thankful man this weekend after dodging a medical scare.

After missing Thursday night’s regular-season opener, Jones reportedly received news that a viral infection near his heart is clearing up, according to The Baltimore Sun.

Jones could reportedly return to the field soon. The projected starter has been out since the team’s third preseason game on Aug. 22, so he may need time to ease back in.

But Jones is just thankful for the good news.

"Thank you Lord for the amazing news today," Jones wrote on his Twitter account. "I don't know where I would be with out you. :-) Thank you everyone who kept me in their prayers. The big man upstairs answered.”

Jones also tweeted the Bible verse Psalm 30:2, “O Lord my God, I cried to You and You have healed me.

Jones’ ailment had been described as a non-life threatening, non-football related illness. Jones had asked for privacy during the uncertain times while trying to find out what it was.

With Jones back, the Ravens’ formidable front seven gets even stronger. Marcus Spears and Chris Canty helped pick up Jones’ share of the load in Denver.
