Bernard Pollard Not Fined For Hit

Posted Nov 30, 2012

The Ravens safety was flagged for a helmet-to-helmet hit in San Diego.

Ravens safety Bernard Pollard won this time.

Although he was flagged for a helmet-to-helmet hit on San Diego wide receiver Denario Alexander last Sunday, Pollard confirmed that he did not receive a fine from the NFL office.

Replays clearly showed that Pollard led with his shoulder on the play.

The Chargers got a bonus 15 yards and eventually kicked a field goal on the fourth-quarter drive, accounting for their only points of the second half and making a huge difference in a 16-13 final score.

"No letter [from the league]," Pollard told The Baltimore Sun. "I know how to play football. When I'm right, I'm right."

Pollard has been outspoken against the league’s fines and penalties regarding illegal hits.

Wide receiver Anquan Boldin, however, has reportedly received a fine.

Boldin has been fined $7,875 for a late hit against the Chargers, according to The Sun’s Aaron Wilson.

Boldin and Chargers cornerback Marcus Gilchrist were getting physical late in the game. During a fourth-quarter play, Boldin tossed Gilchrist to the ground. When Gilchrist got to his feet, Boldin came after him and shoved him in the back. Boldin and the Ravens were penalized 15 yards for a personal foul.
