Breshad Perriman Signs Rookie Contract

The Ravens have all nine of their draft picks under contract, as first-round wide receiver signed his first deal.

Perriman’s four-year deal is worth $8.704 million, including a signing bonus of $4.59 million, per The Baltimore Sun’s Aaron Wilson.

Perriman was the final draft pick to ink his deal.

The Ravens signed third-round defensive tackle Carl Davis on Saturday and the rest of their draft picks last week.

With the salary wage scale put in place by the 2011 collective bargaining agreement (CBA), rookie deals are much easier to negotiate than they used to be.

Even so, Perriman’s deal was done even quicker than past first-rounders. Last year, first-round linebacker C.J. Mosley signed on May 27, nearly three weeks after the draft. In 2013, safety Matt Elam signed on July 18, as he chose to negotiate his own contract without hiring an agent.

Perriman excelled in his first appearance at rookie camp, showing excellent burst off the line of scrimmage and speed to stretch the field. He only had one blatant drop during Saturday’s practice. He quickly showed why the Ravens used a first-round pick on him.

Davis said he’s playing both inside defensive tackle positions and nothing has surprised him thus far.

“I knew this was a tough program,” he said. “I knew practice would be fast and high-tempo. We kind of ran practice like this at Iowa, so I knew it would be the same thing.”

Now all of Baltimore’s draft picks can simply focus on football.
