Friday Ravens Quotes: Week 11 at Steelers

Posted Nov 16, 2012

Head Coach John Harbaugh

Opening statement: “Welcome, thanks for coming out. The few the proud – appreciate you guys being here. Speaking of that, we had a couple of American heroes here: Sergeant First Class Cedric King and Captain Flo [Florent] Groberg are here from the Wounded Warriors Project. Both of those guys spoke to our team and just did a great job and had a great message. We’re proud of all the Americans overseas that are sacrificing, and their families are sacrificing, to keep America safe and strong.”

Have you had a chance to talk to your brother [Jim]? How is he feeling? (Joe Platania) “He’s feeling good. Thank you. He had a little procedure. He’s had it before.  I guess it’s a little bit more advanced now with his heart rate and things like that, so it should correct that. He’s back at work today, from what I understand.”

How disappointed where you for Jimmy Smith? He kind of got the opportunity there to start after [Lardarius] Webb was injured, and now to have this … (Jeff Zrebiec) “Yes, disappointed. It’s one of those things that just kind of comes on. Torrey [Smith] had a similar deal last year and was able to play through it. Jimmy was not, because it was just a little different position, and the details were a little different as far as the injury in there. He went ahead and got it corrected. It looks like, by all accounts, it went really, really well, and the timeframe – it’s hard to say exactly what it is – but by the end of the season there is a really, really good chance he will be back playing.”

Is it more hernia than groin? (Jeff Zrebiec) “Sports hernia, yes. More sports hernia.”
