The Ravens came out of Miami relatively healthy and are getting better as they prepare for their Week 6 game against the Packers.
Ravens starting left guard Kelechi Osemele’s back is feeling better, according to Head Coach John Harbaugh. Osemele had back spasms in pre-game warmups and they flared up again on the Ravens’ first offensive series. He was replaced by backup center A.Q. Shipley.
“We’ll just have to see throughout the course of the week how he responds,” Harbaugh said of Osemele.
Running back Ray Rice “continues to get better,” after sitting with a hip flexor injury two weeks ago, according to Harbaugh. Rice ran 27 times for 74 yards and two touchdowns in Miami.
Cornerback Lardarius Webb (hamstring) got through the game “pretty well.” Webb had a tough assignment with wide receiver Mike Wallace, who hit a deep 49-yard gain and finished with 105 yards. Webb played well overall with four tackles and two pass deflections.
Rookie linebacker Arthur Brown (pectoral strain) had no issues in his first game back since Week 2.
Defensive tackle Marcus Spears did not practice Thursday and Friday last week and missed Sunday’s game because of a knee injury. Harbaugh said he’s getting treatment on it this week, but it’s not major.
“It’s nothing major structural in there,” he said. “We’ll just have to see how that responds and he’ll probably be day-to-day.”
Wide receiver Marlon Brown was also inactive due to a hamstring injury. Harbaugh said the Ravens would like to get him out to practice Wednesday.
Wide receiver Jacoby Jones will continue to practice this week, and they’ll monitor his progress. Harbaugh said the Ravens are debating whether to use Jones as a special teams returner or ease him back on offense when he comes back.
In terms of left tackle Eugene Monroe, who was inactive Sunday in Miami after being acquired in a trade on Tuesday, Harbaugh said the Ravens are in a “wait-and-see mode.”
“We’ll see what happens over the course of the week. We don’t really know for sure,” he said. “He looked good last week. He looked really good. We’ll just have to see how it plays out. This is uncharted territory for us.”
