McPhee, who was listed as questionable with a thigh injury, has been ruled out for the fourth straight game Sunday in San Diego. He hasn’t played since Oct. 21 in Houston.
On Friday, McPhee said he felt better about his chances to play, but it was still up in the air as to whether he would or not.
“I feel like I could go out and compete,” he said.
“But it’s all coach’s decision. He’s going to make the best decision. He knows where I’m at and I know where I’m at. If it boils down to it and I’m one of the guys that need to be out there Sunday, he knows the right decision to make.”
