The Ravens have promoted guard Kaleb Johnson and wide receiver Daniel Brown from the practice squad before Monday Night Football in Cleveland.

Wide receiver Chuck Jacobs was cut and tight end Chase Ford (shoulder) was sent to injured reserve (IR) to make room. Ford is the 17^th Raven placed on IR this season.

Considering injuries to guard Kelechi Osemele (knee), tackle Eugene Monroe (shoulder) and center Jeremy Zuttah (shoulder – IR), the Ravens needed immediate help on the offensive line.

Monroe and Osemele are both doubtful to play against the Browns, and Monday’s transactions are further evidence that they likely won’t suit up.

Johnson is an undrafted rookie out of Rutgers who made the practice squad out of training camp. The 6-foot-4, 316-pound guard has been with the team ever since. While Ryan Jensen is expected to get the start at guard if Osemele can’t suit up, Johnson (if activated) would be his backup in case of injury.

Brown could step in for wide receiver Marlon Brown, who is also doubtful to play due to a back injury.

Brown is a 6-foot-5, 225-pound target who performed well in the preseason and originally made the practice squad out of training camp only to be cut three days later.

The James Madison product grabbed a 28-yard touchdown in Philadelphia and hauled in a final-minute touchdown in Atlanta as part of a three-catch, 30-yard showing. Brown had good chemistry with new Ravens starting quarterback Matt Schaub.

Brown also blocked a punt against the Falcons in the preseason, and could play a role on special teams.
