Ravens Cut Cornerback Chris Johnson

Posted Aug 19, 2013

The team parted ways with the veteran cornerback from last year’s Super Bowl roster.

The Ravens have parted ways with one of their cornerbacks from their Super Bowl XLVII team.

The team cut veteran Chris Johnson on Monday.

Johnson, 33, has dealt with migraine headaches during training camp and sat out last week’s preseason game against the Falcons. He missed a week of practice before returning to the field over the weekend.

The 10-year veteran signed with the Ravens midway through last season after the team dealt with injuries to cornerbacks Lardarius Webb and Jimmy Smith. He started one contest and saw action in four games, finishing the season with seven total tackles and a forced fumble.

Johnson was primarily a special teams player, and he was competing with Chykie Brown for the No. 4 cornerback spot.
