Ravens Expected To Be Full Strength For Training Camp

The Ravens don’t have any serious injuries lingering as they break before training camp.

The Ravens are in a favorable – yet somewhat unfamiliar – situation.

They are healthy.

When the team returns to Baltimore for training camp next month, just about every player on the 90-man roster is expected to be ready for practice. It’s the healthiest they’ve ever been since Harbaugh became the head coach six years ago, according to ESPN.

“I’d say it looks really good for almost all those guys [returning from injury],” Head Coach John Harbaugh said when asked if the full roster would be ready for training camp.

The Ravens have avoided any significant injuries during offseason practices, and there have only been a few players held out of action as they recover from surgeries. The most notable non-participants have been running back Bernard Pierce (shoulder), defensive lineman Terrence Cody (hip) and offensive lineman Jah Reid (calf).

Pierce and Cody both had offseason procedures, and Reid tweaked his calf during the offseason program. They will now get four weeks to rest and continue their recoveries, and the Ravens hope all of them are back on the field for the start of training camp. 

“A lot of it has to do with setbacks,” Harbaugh said. “No setbacks between now and then – that’s part of the offseason deal.”

In recent years, the Ravens have started training camp without key players like outside linebacker Terrell Suggs, right guard Marshal Yanda, linebacker Jameel McClain and safety Ed Reed. The Ravens don’t have any serious issues like that this season.

The only other current injuries are to defensive lineman Kapron Lewis-Moore (hamstring), wide receiver Kamar Aiken (Achilles strain) and Jace Davis (ankle).
