Ravens Friday Quotes: Week 16 vs Giants

Posted Dec 21, 2012

Head Coach John Harbaugh

Opening statement: “We had a special guest today – Jessica Long – who is the U.S. Olympic Sportswoman of the Year. She has over 55 combined medals, 17 Olympic medals. Some consider her the all-time Paralympic athlete in U.S. history. She’s from Baltimore – a big Ravens fan. She had a great message for our team. Ray [Rice] presented her with a Ravens jersey, because she loves the Ravens. It was a good finish to a good practice.”

Marshal [Yanda] and Torrey [Smith] came back yesterday. They were able to work again today. Are you encouraged by their progress? (Aaron Wilson) “Yes, I’m encouraged.”

How good did it feel to find out Chuck Pagano, yesterday, was cleared to return to the sidelines? (Luke Jones) “Yes, it’s great. I haven’t had the chance to talk to Chuck [Pagano] at all. I did see on T.V. that clip running over and over again – the one that we all saw of him in the press box. It was great to see it. I know he’s probably pretty fired up to get back and go to work. It’s a great thing. Congratulations to Chuck and Tina and their whole family. There’s no bigger fight to win than the one Chuck just won.”

Have Torrey [Smith] and Bernard [Pierce] passed the baseline test yet? (Jason Butt) “No, they have not. Not yet, but they haven’t taken it yet either.”

How about Ray Lewis? Any progress with him? Do you guys feel like he’s moving along? (Aaron Wilson) “Coming along, coming along. Yes, he is coming along.”

How would you say the attitude of everyone was this week? Excited to get back on the field this week? (Jim Forner) “Yes, I would say the attitude was very … It was a great attitude. It was a positive attitude. ‘Fierce’ is a term that comes to mind immediately. That’s how I’m feeling. This is the time of year that you work for. This is the time of year where everything is on the line. This is the time of year that we … We love this time of year. You work hard through all those other times of the year to get to this time of year. We are very excited. We know we are playing a great football team. We know we’re playing a team that is just as determined as we are. We are looking forward to going into that game and putting everything we have out there.”
