The roster is never final for Ozzie Newsome.
Baltimore’s general manager is regularly maneuvering and tweaking his team throughout the spring and summer to get the best 53-man squad ready for the regular season. The NFL Draft is hardly the final piece of the puzzle when it comes to building the roster, and Newsome made that clear after the Ravens wrapped this year’s draft.
“We’re not done putting this team together right now,” Newsome said. “It’s still two or three months – maybe four months – before we have to play Denver.”
The immediate step after the draft was to start courting unrestricted free agents, and the Ravens jumped on that process as soon as the final pick was made. The Ravens have a strong track record of finding quality undrafted players – kicker 
The other part of the equation is adding veteran free agents who end up looking for work as training camp nears or even during the preseason. Quality veterans sometimes find themselves out of a job because their high salaries don’t match the production, but then the Ravens could pick them up at a discounted rate after they get cut.
The Ravens have found some consistent starters late in the process the last few years, including linebacker
“We as a personnel staff, we’re still going to be mining for players to make our roster, to make us, better,” Newsome said.
If there’s a particular position where the Ravens may keep a watchful eye on the market, cornerback is likely it. The Ravens secondary was decimated with injuries last year, and the Ravens didn’t draft a corner until taking
