Ravens-Giants Game Flexed

Posted Dec 10, 2012

The Week 16 matchup at M&T Bank Stadium has been moved to 4:25 p.m.

The Ravens will have at least one more late-afternoon game this season.

The Week 16 matchup against the New York Giants at M&T Bank Stadium has been flexed to 4:25 p.m., the NFL announced on Monday.

The game, which was originally scheduled for 1 p.m., will be broadcast on FOX.

The NFL utilizes flexible schedule in Weeks 11-17 to allow high-profile games to be played in primetime and late-afternoon time slots because those generate larger audiences.

FOX protected the Week 16 game from being moved into the 8:20 p.m. time slot on NBC because the networks have the right to protect five Sunday afternoon games during the season.

This will be the Ravens’ third late-afternoon game of the season. The Ravens have also played four primetime games during the year.

There is also potential that the Ravens’ regular-season finale against the Cincinnati Bengals will get flexed because the NFL guarantees that the Sunday Night Football matchup in Week 17 will have playoff implications.
