Ravens Honor Jorge Eduardo Castillo with NFL Hispanic Heritage Leadership Award

Posted Sep 26, 2017

The Baltimore Ravens have selected Jorge Eduardo Castillo, founder and chief strategist of ¡Onward! Estrategias, as the recipient of the 2017 NFL Hispanic Heritage Leadership Award. Castillo will be recognized for his achievements at this Sunday’s (10/1) game against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The NFL and the Hispanic Heritage Foundation (HHF) have partnered for the seventh-annual award presentation, which coincides with the 2017 celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month. The award recognizes the contributions of local Hispanic leaders in each NFL market.

An award-winning executive, Castillo has over 16 years of experience in the business industry. Throughout his career, he has developed strategies that encompass the entire business cycle, including those in strategic planning, sales, organizational development, process reengineering, new economy public relations, branding and digital marketing. His passion for marketing, technology and innovation has earned him several prestigious awards, including the Baltimore Business Journal’s “40 Under 40 Emerging Leader” in 2014 and an induction into the Daily Record’s “Very Important Professionals Successful By 40” list in 2016.

Castillo currently serves as the founder and chief strategist of his bilingual consulting firm, ¡Onward! Estrategias. He also acts as the chairman and president of the Maryland Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and is the previous vice president and founding board member of the There Goes My Hero Foundation.

As an active volunteer in the Baltimore community, Castillo has spent six years serving as a hotline counselor for House of Ruth Maryland, assisting victims of domestic violence. Another organization he has dedicated his time to is Project Place, where he has cooked meals for homeless individuals recovering from drug addictions. In August, he was recognized for his outstanding service when he received the 20-Year Leadership Excellence Award from DCBX for his commitment to making a difference in the Hispanic community.
