Torrey Smith Dedicates Reading Oasis Room

Baltimore Ravens WR Torrey Smith is partnering with Scholastic Book Fairs and has transformed a room at Dickey Hill Elementary and Middle School into a literary oasis.

“Torrey’s Reading Oasis” was created as part of the charitable programming of the Torrey Smith Foundation and its focus on improving literacy in area schools. The Reading Oasis will service 370 students at the school, providing access to age-appropriate books and a comfortable place to read.

On Tuesday (2/25), Smith will be on site for a ribbon-cutting ceremony and to make a brief statement to the student body. Following the ceremony, Smith will do a read-aloud in the Reading Oasis with a smaller group of students, the winners of a reading contest.
