Hold off on booking that trip to London.
The Ravens will be staying state-side in 2015, as they won’t be one of the six NFL teams playing a game at London’s Wembley Stadium next season.
The league announced next year’s slate of games in London next season, and the Ravens will have to wait at least another year to make their inaugural trip across the pond.
Here’s the three-game schedule for next year in England:
- Oct. 4: New York Jets vs. Miami Dolphins
- Oct. 25: Buffalo Bills vs. Jacksonville Jaguars
- Nov. 1: Detroit Lions vs. Kansas City Chiefs
Part of the reason the Ravens have never played a game in London since the NFL began the international series in 2007 is because the franchise has a lease agreement with the Maryland Stadium Authority that prohibits playing home games away from M&T Bank Stadium. Playing in Baltimore is a priority, as the Ravens have sold out every home game in franchise history.
NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell has said on numerous occasions that he would eventually like to see a permanent franchise in London, so the Ravens might have a trip to England sometime in the future.
