The Ravens announced Friday they will terminate the contract of nose tackle 
Cody was set to become an unrestricted free agent on March 10.
The Ravens re-signed Cody to a one-year contract last offseason, hopeful that he could return to form after getting his hip repaired and losing weight.
That didn’t happen, however, as Cody took significant time to recuperate from hip surgery, was placed on the physically unable to perform list at the beginning of the year and played in just one game after being activated to the 53-man roster.
Cody, a former second-round pick in 2010, didn’t live up to his gargantuan “Mount Cody” reputation coming out of Alabama.
His best season was in 2011 when he started all 16 games and made 34 tackles, but he struggled with injuries and his weight in the years since. He dropped to just three starts in 2012, then just one start (played in 12 games) in 2013 before being a non-factor in 2014.
Cody posted 87 tackles and two pass deflections in his five seasons in Baltimore.
