Ravens Preseason Schedule Announced

Posted Apr 4, 2013

Baltimore will open in Tampa Bay and play Carolina at home on ESPN in the third week.

The defending Super Bowl champions will begin the 2013 preseason in the same place they claimed their first Lombardi Trophy – Tampa Bay.

Baltimore will open the preseason against the Buccaneers sometime between Aug. 8 and 11. The exact date and time has yet to be announced. The Ravens have never played the Bucs in the preseason in team history.

The Ravens’ home opener is the next week against the Atlanta Falcons on Thursday, Aug. 15. It will be the debut of M&T Bank Stadium’s widespread upgrades.

Baltimore’s third preseason game will be aired on ESPN at home against Carolina on Thursday, Aug. 22, highlighting their preseason schedule. The third game of the preseason is generally when the starters play the most.

The Ravens close the preseason in St. Louis for the second straight year, on Thursday Aug. 29.

Under Head Coach John Harbaugh, the Ravens have compiled a 13-7 record in the preseason. They are 40-27 all-time in preseason play.

The full regular-season schedule won’t be out for a couple more weeks, but there are clues that it could come on April 16. The Ravens do know they’ll open the 2013 regular season on the road.
