Ravens Sign Undrafted RB Fitzgerald Toussaint

Posted May 29, 2014

Baltimore will have more depth in the backfield with the speedy Fitzgerald Toussaint.

The Ravens signed undrafted running back Fitzgerald Toussaint on Thursday, adding to their depth in the backfield as they go through organized team activities.

With running back Bernard Pierce limited (shoulder), Baltimore used Ray Rice, Justin Forsett and rookie Lorenzo Taliaferro in Thursday’s practice.

The 5-foot-10, 210-pound Toussaint rushed for 1,041 yards at Michigan during his sophomore season. He had nine rushing touchdowns and one receiving that year.

Toussaint’s production decreased as the Wolverines shifted to a pass-friendly offense under Head Coach Brady Hoke. He averaged 3.5 yards per carry as a senior and caught a career-high 18 passes for 203 yards.

Toussaint impressed at Michigan’s pro day by running the 40-yard dash in 4.49 seconds. He had solid times in the three-cone drill (6.59), posted a 35.5-inch vertical jump and put up 24 bench press reps.

The Ravens drafted Taliaferro in the fourth round and also signed running back/fullback Shaun Chapas and have Cierre Wood returning from last year.
