The Ravens waived injured undrafted rookie wide receiver Cam Worthy on Wednesday. Worthy injured his foot during Organized Team Activities in June.
Baltimore made an interesting signing to fill the empty roster spot.
The Ravens added 
Nelson was previously an undrafted rookie (2009) signed by the Cincinnati Bengals. He played in 12 games and started three as a rookie, making 25 tackles and one interception. Nelson dropped to eight games played and no starts in his second year in Cincinnati before being released.
Nelson signed a two-year deal with Philadelphia in 2011 and played in four games with the Eagles before being cut the following year in training camp.
The Chicago Bears picked him up after the 2012 season, but he didn’t make their 2013 roster. He didn’t make the Carolina Panthers’ roster last year during training camp.
Now Nelson is trying to rebuild his career at a new position with Baltimore. He’ll have an uphill climb to make the roster considering the Ravens are deep at wide receiver.
The 5-foot-11, 200-pound Illinois State product will take the field for the first time Thursday when training camp practices begin.
