Ravens fans hoping for a reunion with Jacoby Jones can still keep dreaming.
Head Coach John Harbaugh hadn’t heard about the Chargers’ release of Jacoby Jones until this morning as he walked off the field from practice.
The Ravens signed wide receivers Joe Morgan to the 53-man roster following 
“[This is] the first I’ve heard of Jacoby’s situation,” Harbaugh said. “I would assume that’s something we would talk about today a little bit and see where we’re at.”
Jones was a fan favorite and major impact player during his three years in Baltimore, particularly in the first two.
The Ravens likely wouldn’t have won Super Bowl XLVII without him. Jones caught the Mile High Miracle in the Denver divisional playoff game and had a long touchdown and 108-yard kickoff return for a touchdown in Super Bowl XLVII.
However, Jones started to decline last season. He still averaged a healthy 30.6 yards on kickoff returns, but fumbled three times on punt returns. He had trouble with drops in receiving as well, and caught just nine passes in 16 games for 131 yards and no touchdowns.
The Ravens released Jones in the offseason and he signed with the Chargers, but a change of scenery didn’t pull him out of his funk. Jones had minus-4 yards on five punt returns and a career-low (since his rookie year in 2007) 21.4 yards per kickoff return. He has yet to catch a pass this season.
