Reports: Michael Oher's Ankle Injury Not Serious

Posted Sep 8, 2013

Michael Oher could play against the Cleveland Browns if he responds well to treatment.

Michael Oher’s ankle injury suffered in Thursday night’s regular-season opener is not serious, according to CBS Sports’ Jason La Canfora.

The Ravens don’t play until Sept. 15 against the Cleveland Browns, so Oher has extra time to recover from the injury. If he responds well to treatment, he could make a return.

“I’m good. We have to wait on the test results but everything should be OK," Oher said after the game.

Oher suffered the injury when guard Marshal Yanda rolled into him during a 1-yard Ray Rice touchdown run in the first quarter. He limped off the field under his own power, and reportedly didn’t have a walking boot or crutches after the game.

Oher, 27, has never missed a start during his five seasons in the league. He was playing well before going down with the injury. Rookie fifth-round pick Rick Wagner replaced Oher at right tackle.
