Reports: Ravens Not Offering Tandon Doss Tender

Posted Mar 10, 2014

Wide receiver/punt returner Tandon Doss could still return in free agency.

The Ravens will not be offering a tender to wide receiver Tandon Doss, according to The Baltimore Sun, meaning he would become a free agent.

Doss, 24, is one of the Ravens’ two restricted free agents. Linebacker Albert McClellan is the other, and he reportedly agreed to a two-year deal on Sunday.

It wouldn’t be the first time the Ravens let go of Doss. He was released at the end of training camp last year, but re-signed a little more than a week later after an injury knocked Jacoby Jones out of the lineup for several weeks.

Doss started to emerge after he was brought back. He started two games and caught 19 passes for 305 yards, including one grab over the middle in Pittsburgh despite taking a massive hit from safety Troy Polamalu.

Doss also returned punts. He scored an 82-yard touchdown against Houston and averaged an NFL-high 15.6 yards per return on 23 attempts. But Doss fumbled a critical punt in Cleveland, contributing to a loss, and Jones took over returning duties from that point on.

The 2011 fourth-round pick out of Indiana recorded just one catch over the Ravens’ final six games.

Doss could still return to the Ravens in free agency later this offseason.
