Quarterback Ryan Mallett will get his first start as a Raven Sunday against the Steelers.

This marks the fourth starting quarterback the Ravens will have this season after seven straight years of only having one: Joe Flacco.

Since Mallett is reportedly signed through the 2016 season, Sunday will be the first preview of what the Ravens can expect out of Flacco’s likely backup next year.

Jimmy Clausen, who started the past two weeks against Seattle and Kansas City, is inactive. That leaves Schaub as the backup.

Mallett last started a game with the Houston Texans on Oct. 8 against Indianapolis. He went 7-for-10 for 50 yards before being replaced by Brian Hoyer.

Known for his strong arm, Mallett’s best game this season was against the Buccaneers in Week 3 when he was 24-of-39 for 228 yards with one touchdown and one interception.

The Ravens’ other inactives are wide receiver Marlon Brown (back), running back Terrence Magee, cornerback Jumal Rolle, cornerback Jermaine Whitehead, linebacker Albert McClellan (ankle) and defensive end Kapron Lewis-Moore.

Rookie fourth-round cornerback Tray Walker is active. With Rolle inactive, Walker will serve as the fourth cornerback and could see some defensive action.
