Send Ravens Off To New Orleans

Posted Jan 27, 2013

The team will hold a free sendoff in downtown Baltimore on Monday.

The Ravens will take off for New Orleans Monday, and the city of Baltimore has the opportunity to bid them farewell ahead of Super Bowl XLVII.

Baltimore will hold a free Super Bowl Sendoff Rally in the city’s downtown Inner Harbor Ampitheater.

Festivities begin at 6 a.m. with a “Bacon and Beer” event and live 98Rock morning show broadcast from Tir Na Nog. Entertainment on the ampitheater’s main stage will begin at 10:30 a.m. and feature musical act Faded Image, the Ravens cheerleaders, Baltimore’s Marching Ravens and mascot Poe.

The sendoff rally will officially begin at 11:30 a.m. with a welcome from the voice of the Ravens, WBAL’s Gerry Sandusky. Members of the Ravens 2000 Super Bowl team will also be in attendance.

The current Ravens team is scheduled to arrive at the rally at 12:15 p.m. before heading to the airport and taking off for the Big Easy.
