So Many Ways to Win

Posted Sep 4, 2008

Although tickets and now even the waiting list for tickets may be sold out, fans can still participate in many ways, showing their Ravens pride and even winning some cool stuff along the way.

As the 2008 season gets ready to kick off, one thing is clear: Baltimore loves its Ravens. The team holds several promotions and contests throughout the season for fans to interact with their favorite squad. Although tickets - and now even the waiting list for tickets - may be sold out, fans can still participate in many ways, showing their Ravens pride and even winning some cool stuff along the way.

For the younger fans, there’s Tee Kid, when a child runs out right after kick off of every home game to pick up the tee. The child and parents will also receive pre-game field passes and tickets to that week’s game!

Kids can also become the Rookie of the Game presented by Dick’s Sporting Goods. The Ravens will select a member of the Ravens Rookies Club to get tickets and pre-game field passes to a game. If you’re not a member of Ravens Rookies, you can still enter to win at any participating Dick’s Sporting Goods location!

For student athletes, there’s the Quarterback Challenge and Ravens Champions Athlete of the Week, both presented by Toyota. The Baltimore Ravens work with area athletic directors to promote academic, athletic and community excellence. For every home game, two student athletes (one male and female) will be awarded the honor of Ravens Champions Athlete of the Week, whereby they will win tickets to that week’s game, a VIP field pass, a jersey and a $500 donation to the winner’s athletic program! Through the Quarterback Challenge, Maryland high school quarterbacks have the opportunity to showcase their talents at halftime of the game for prizes, such as a $300 gift card for their athletic program, an autographed football and a prize pack. They also win 40 tickets for their school to the game!

Fans with tickets to the game can upgrade to the club level with First to Arrive presented by AirTran. Listen to 98 Rock to learn the location the broadcasting team will be, then be the first to arrive there and win a set of club -evel tickets and pre-game field passes. In the Where in the World is Poe? contest, fans can listen to clues given out by 98 Rock on the Monday before each home game to find out which M&T Bank branch Poe, the official Ravens’ mascot, will be that week. Be the first to greet Poe and say the slogan and win tickets to that game and a VIP tour of the stadium. Fans who enter to win Allstate Captain of the Game could also win tickets, as well as the chance to join captains at midfield for the coin toss and a co-branded jersey!

For tailgaters, there’s the Maryland Lottery Tailgate Patrol, who will be around the stadium at each home game to find that day’s best tailgate setup. The winner will be greeted by Poe, Ravens Cheerleaders and Maryland Lottery personnel to win $200 in Maryland Lottery scratch-offs and plenty of other Ravens memorabilia and also go on-air with 98 Rock! For the Family Tailgate presented by Shoppers, winners can receive a special spot on Ravens Walk the day of the game for up to 20 guests, 4 tickets to the game, a $100 gift card, a Weber grill and other merchandise from various sponsors!

There are also special opportunities away from the game. Fans who buy a set of four Yokohama tires receive a signed Willis McGahee jersey through a promotion with Yokohama. If fans order their pizza from Papa John’s, they can get a free topping for every touchdown the Ravens score throughout the season with Toppings for Touchdowns presented by Papa John's

And, don’t forget about Purple Friday’s at Bill Bateman’s, which will feature Poe, Cheerleaders and other prizes every Friday throughout the season! If you would like to learn more and enter any of these promotions, check out the Ravens Contests section. Good luck and have a great season with the Ravens!
