The Caw: Dennis Pitta's Purple Pants

Posted Mar 5, 2014

Tight end Dennis Pitta is going for most stylish dresser after signing his big deal.

Sure, Dennis Pitta’s new contract was a big deal.

But did anyone else notice the flashy purple pants he wore to his press conference?

Wide receiver Torrey Smith did. Smith was seated in the back of the press conference and was given the honor of asking the final question.

Torrey: “Since you got your new contract, are you going to dress like this all the time?”

Pitta: “I might.”

Pitta: “I look good, so …”

That was, without a doubt, my favorite part of the press conference.

I must say, I have to agree with Pitta. The pants, which a female friend at the office told me were closer to periwinkle than purple or lavender (sorry Lavender Ladies), were quite stylish. Not sure where he got them, but I may have to look into that.

The money isn’t what changed Pitta though. I remember doing a Q&A with Ravens players and several identified Pitta as the Raven most concerned with his appearance – especially his hair.

So, yes, we can probably expect Pitta to be dressed like that for years to come.
