Tray Walker Active, Kyle Arrington Scratched

Posted Dec 20, 2015

The Ravens are not yet announcing a starting quarterback for Sunday's game vs. Kansas City.

The Ravens are ushering in their young cornerbacks for Sunday’s game against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Veteran cornerback Kyle Arrington is inactive for the first time this year and rookie fourth-round pick Tray Walker and recently acquired Jumal Rolle are both active.

It will be the first game Rolle will play for the Ravens and Walker had only been active one time in the past six contests. Walker has hardly played any defense so far in his young career.

Head Coach John Harbaugh said last week that the 2016 season begins Sunday against the Chiefs, and it’s time to see what some of these young cornerbacks can offer.

Quarterback Ryan Mallett will not play Sunday after being acquired this week, which isn’t a surprise considering it’s difficult to get up to game speed in such a short time. Harbaugh did say Mallett had a chance to play at some point before the season is over.

The Ravens have not announced who the starting quarterback will be between Matt Schaub and Jimmy Clausen. Schaub (chest) was listed as probable to play and is active.

The Ravens’ injury scratches are tight end Crockett Gillmore (back), linebacker Albert McClellan (ankle) and wide receiver Marlon Brown (back).

Tight end Richard Gordon and defensive end Kapron Lewis-Moore are healthy scratches. Rookie third-round pick Carl Lewis got the nod over Lewis-Moore in helping to replace injured defensive end Chris Canty (pectoral).

The Chiefs’ inactives include Pro Bowl outside linebacker Justin Houston, who led the league with 22 sacks last year.

Kansas City’s other scratches are safety Husain Abdullah, quarterback Aaron Murray, wide receiver Knile Davis, tackle Jeff Allen, defensive tackle David King and defensive lineman Rakeem Nunez-Roches.
