The Ravens suffered another close loss Sunday in Miami, falling to the Dolphins 15-13 at Sun Life Stadium.

Quarterback Matt Schaub’s two interceptions were clearly the big story after the game, but there plenty of other under-the-radar plays that were still important in the final outcome.

Here’s a look at some plays you may have missed at first glance:

Osemele Playing Like Old Self

Left guard Kelechi Osemele missed the last two games with a knee injury, but he was back to his old self against Miami. Osemele is a violent blocker at the line of scrimmage, and he put that ability on full display throughout Sunday’s game. Osemele showed no lingering symptoms from the knee injury, and he consistently opened holes in the running game and finished blocks against Dolphins defenders.

In the first video, Osemele absolutely pancaked a defender on the goal line. The next video shows him sealing a running lane for Buck Allen with a combination block to pick up the first down on third-and-3. Blocks like this are why Osemele was the Ravens’ top-graded offensive player by Pro Football Focus in Week 13.

T. West Shows Restraint

Running back Terrance West deserves some credit for not retaliating after a clear late shove from safety Reshad Jones. West was tackled over the middle of the field inside Miami’s red zone, and Jones shoved him as he hopped to his feet. The late shove wasn’t penalized – a flag would have moved the football to the 5.5-yard mark – and the Ravens ended up getting nothing on the drive because their fourth-down run a few plays later was ruled short of the first-down marker.

Suh Rips Off Yanda’s Helmet

Miami defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh has a reputation for being a physical, and sometimes dirty, player at the line of scrimmage. The battles between him and Pro Bowl right guard Marshal Yanda had all the makings of a heavyweight bout, and each player got the best of the other at times. Yanda’s relentless effort seemed to frustrate Suh at times, and that appeared to be the case during this block on a screen pass in the fourth quarter. The two of them tangled up on the play, with Suh appearing to deliver multiple shots to Yanda’s facemask. The defender eventually rips off Yanda’s helmet and throws him to the ground as he continues his pursuit to Allen. No flag was called on Suh for pulling off Yanda’s helmet.
