The Ravens opened mandatory minicamp Tuesday with mostly the same attendance that was at Organized Team Activities (OTAs).

Veteran guard Marshal Yanda was the only new addition to the group, as other injured veterans are still rehabbing and left tackle Eugene Monroe was held out of practice while he’s part of trade talks.

Dumervil Sidelined By ‘Preventative Procedure’

Outside linebacker Elvis Dumervil was one veteran expected to be on the field who was not.

Dumveril, 32, started all 16 games last year and did not finish the season with an injury of note.

However, Head Coach John Harbaugh said Dumervil had a “preventative procedure” this offseason. He did not specify what part of the body the procedure was on.

“He had what has been termed as a preventative procedure, so he’s not ready to go in minicamp,” Harbaugh said. “He’ll be ready to go in training camp.”

Dumervil is expected to speak with media tomorrow to reveal more details.

For now, it sidelines the Ravens’ top two veteran pass rushers in Dumervil and Terrell Suggs. Za’Darius Smith, rookie Matt Judon and others have been Baltimore’s main edge rushers in their absence.

Suggs, Smith Sr., Flacco All Still Out

In less surprising news, Suggs, wide receiver Steve Smith Sr. and quarterback Joe Flacco all sat out Tuesday’s practice and will presumably not be back until training camp or beyond.

Flacco watched much of practice while sitting on a golf cart with Owner Steve Bisciotti.

Suggs, who has been working out and rehabbing at the Under Armour Performance Center, did not come out to practice. Smith was also in the building but did not attend practice.

Smith will speak to the media on Wednesday and Flacco will talk Thursday.

Campanaro, Kaufusi Still Sidelined

With Breshad Perriman sidelined at least until training camp, per Harbaugh, there are more opportunities for wide receivers to show their stuff this week.

However, third-year wide receiver Michael Campanaro is still dealing with his calf injury. Campanaro was also sidelined for both weeks of OTAs.

The shifty slot receiver tweaked his calf in mid-May. Harbaugh said he was in phenomenal shape and expressed support and hope that Campanaro can get past his injury bug in training camp.

As expected, third-round rookie Bronson Kaufusi was still out because of a back injury suffered on the first day of rookie minicamp. He is also expected back for training camp.
