The Ravens suffered a tough blow Monday night when they lost rookie receiver Darren Waller for the rest of the season with a hamstring injury.

They also came out of the game with some other big injury concerns, but it looks like they may have dodged a bullet on that front.

Osemele Limited, Monroe Didn’t Practice

Left tackle Eugene Monroe (shoulder) and left guard Kelechi Osemele (knee) both left Monday’s game with injuries and didn’t return, but they were on the practice field Monday as the Ravens went through a walk-through.

Monroe didn’t participate in practice, but just having him out on the field without any sort of arm sling or restraint is a good sign. Osemele was a limited participant in practice.

Both players are key pieces of the offensive line that had come on strong in recent weeks. The injury bug has hit Monroe this year, as he also missed nearly all of the first four games because of a concussion.

If Monroe misses any game time, then James Hurst would likely get the start at left tackle. John Urschel is in line to replace Osemele at guard.

The Ravens also brought reserve tackle De’Ondre Wesley up from the practice squad to give additional depth.

Lewis, Brooks Both Practice

The Ravens got some reinforcements to their secondary with safeties Kendrick Lewis (knee) and Terrence Brooks (thumb) back on the field. They both missed Monday’s game against Arizona.

Without Lewis in the starting lineup or Brooks to back him up, the Ravens turned to third-year defender Brynden Trawick to get the first start of his career.

Lewis was considered a game-time decision going into last week’s game, so he could be ready to return against the Chargers. Brooks has missed the last two games with the thumb injury.

“I hate being away from the field, so it was just good to get out there and get back into the groove of things,” Brooks said.

Williams Returns To Practice

Tight end Maxx Williams missed the first game of his career Monday night because of ankle and knee injuries. He returned to the practice field Wednesday as a limited participant. 

Williams was replaced by fellow rookie tight end Nick Boyle last week, who had two catches for 11 yards. He also reeled in a tough catch for a two-point conversion.

Williams has 12 catches for 108 yards this year and has been the No. 2 tight end behind starter Crockett Gillmore. 

While Williams returned, rookie cornerback Tray Walker (sidelined) was sidelined with a concussion.

Perriman Making Progress

First-round pick Breshad Perriman continues to be sidelined with his nagging knee injury.

Head Coach John Harbaugh didn’t make any prediction as to when Perriman would get on the field, but expressed optimism the rookie receiver will play this season.

“I believe from what I’m hearing – and I talk to him every day – it does seem like there’s progress being made,” Harbaugh said. “What does that mean? I don’t know. I’d hate to walk out there on that limb and say something. But I’m still hopefully, got our fingers cross. He hasn’t been put on IR yet, so that means he still has a shot.”
