Who's Practicing, Who's Not vs. Dolphins

Posted Dec 2, 2015

Eugene Monroe continues to sit, but Kelechi Osemele returned after being inactive last week.

Osemele Returns, Monroe Still Out

The Ravens got a piece of their starting offensive line back on the practice field Wednesday, but another is still recovering.

Left guard Kelechi Osemele returned as a full participant after missing the last two games with a knee injury. Left tackle Eugene Monroe, however, did not practice because of a shoulder injury.

Monroe suffered the injury against the Rams in Week 11 and was inactive against Cleveland. Injuries have plagued Monroe all season, as he’s played in just six games this year. Second-year lineman James Hurst has filled in for Monroe when he’s out, and Hurst has actually seen more snaps than the starter.

Missing Monroe and Osemele has been a tough blow for the offensive line, which also lost starting center Jeremy Zuttah to a season-ending pectoral injury in Week 10. John Urschel has taken over for Zuttah at center and Ryan Jensen has played the last two games at left guard.

Right tackle Rick Wagner and right guard Marshal Yanda were the only two offensive linemen expected to be starters at the beginning of the season who actually played last week.

Brown, Williams Both Miss Practice

Rookie tight end Maxx Williams (concussion) and wide receiver Marlon Brown (back) both missed Wednesday’s practice. Brown also missed practice time last week and was inactive against Cleveland.

Williams played against the Browns, but went down with the concussion and did not return. He is currently going through the NFL’s concussion protocol and has to be cleared for contact before returning to practice.

If the concussion lingers for Williams, then that leaves the Ravens with just Crockett Gillmore and Nick Boyle as the two healthy tight ends. The Ravens have gone into a game with only two tight ends on the roster before, so they wouldn’t necessarily have to add another player to that position if Williams is out.

Dolphins Banged Up

The Dolphins’ injury report is much more crowded, as they have 14 of their 53 players dealing with issues.

The most notable injury is to center Mike Pouncey, who didn’t practice because of a foot problem. Pouncey has made the Pro Bowl the last two seasons and is the anchor of Miami’s offensive line.

The other players sidelined during practice were wide receiver Rishard Matthews (ribs), defensive tackle Earl Mitchell (calf) and offensive tackle Ja'Wuan James (toe).

Starting receiver Jarvis Landry (knee) was a limited participant.
