Who's Practicing, Who's Not vs. Miami Dolphins

Posted Oct 23, 2017

The Ravens had a crowded injury report Monday as they began preparation for the Miami Dolphins. Wide receivers Breshad Perriman and Mike Wallace remain in concussion protocol.

Wallace, Perriman in Concussion Protocol

The Ravens got back on the field Monday for a light practice to begin preparations for the Miami Dolphins, and they had 15 players listed on the injury report.

Wide receivers Mike Wallace and Breshad Perriman were both on that list as limited participants because of concussions. Wallace suffered his concussion Sunday against the Minnesota Vikings and Perriman went down two weeks ago against the Chicago Bears.

Neither have been cleared from concussion protocol, Head Coach John Harbaugh said.

Wide receiver Jeremy Maclin was also a limited participant after missing the last two games with a shoulder injury. He has practiced as a limited participant with the injury for the last two weeks, but hasn’t been able to play, and Harbaugh didn’t have a clear indication about whether he would be available Thursday.

“Whoever you see jogging out there at kickoff time, they’ll be playing. Up until that point, I don’t know. I’d like to be coy with you and say, ‘I’m not going to talk about it.’ But at this point, it’s just, ‘We’ll see.’"

Wide receiver Michael Campanaro, one of the only healthy receivers Sunday, also didn’t practice because of a shoulder injury. He suffered the injury in the second half of Sunday’s game, but played through it because the Ravens were so short-handed.

Suggs, J. Smith Miss Practice

Key defensive starters Terrell Suggs (knee) and cornerback Jimmy Smith (Achilles) both didn’t practice Monday.

Their absences don’t come as a huge surprise because Smith has hardly practiced the last three weeks with Achilles tendonitis, and the Ravens likely have given Suggs an off-day to let him recover during the short week. Suggs, a 15-year veteran, hasn’t missed any game action this year because of injuries.

The other defenders absent from practice were rookie outside linebacker Tim Williams (thigh) and defensive back Anthony Levine (back). Williams didn’t play last week because of the thigh injury. The Ravens have limited Levine’s practice time the last couple of weeks, but he’s still been able to play.

T. West, M. Williams Both Miss Practice

The Ravens are banged up offensively, and tight end Maxx Williams (ankle) and running back Terrance West (calf) continue to miss time. West hasn’t played the last two weeks. Williams went down in Week 6 against the Bears, and he’s also been dealing with the injury for much of the year.

The good news for the Ravens is that right guard Matt Skura (knee) returned to practice as a limited participant after missing the last two weeks. If Skura can play this week, he would likely move back into the starting right guard spot.

The other limited participants were tight end Benjamin Watson (knee), linebacker Patrick Onwuasor (knee) and safeties Eric Weddle (ankle) and Tony Jefferson (ankle).

Cutler Could Miss Thursday’s Game

The big question for the Dolphins is whether quarterback Jay Cutler will play this week. He suffered a rib injury Sunday and reportedly could miss a couple of weeks.

“It’s not ideal to say the least,” Head Coach Adam Gase said. “He missed the majority of the second half. We’ll just kind of see how it goes. We’ll just get the guys ready that we know are ready to play.”

The Dolphins didn’t practice Monday, but their estimated injury report said that Cutler was among five players who would not have participated. The others are wide receiver DeVante Parker (ankle), tackle Laremy Tunsil (knee), guard Anthony Steen (foot) and defensive end Andre Branch (groin).

Running back Jay Ajayi (knee/elbow), center Mike Pouncey (knee/hip) and tight end Julius Thomas (knee) were all listed as limited participants.
