Who's Practicing, Who's Not vs. Packers

Posted Nov 15, 2017

Michael Campanaro, Terrance West and Tim Williams returned as full participants. Jimmy Smith sat as he continues to deal with Achilles tendonitis. Ronnie Stanley was limited with a concussion. Danny Woodhead doesn't give any hints on his status.

Ravens Finally Getting Healthy

The bye week looks like it has done wonders for the Ravens on the injury front.

After dealing with injuries at several positions for much of the season, the Ravens finally look more like the team they expected coming into the season.

“We are more full strength than we have been all year,” Head Coach John Harbaugh said Monday.

Baltimore’s injury report was jam-packed going into their Week 9 matchup with the Tennessee Titans before the bye. Players like wide receivers Mike Wallace (back), Jeremy Maclin (shoulder) and Michael Campanaro (shoulder), running back Terrance West (calf) and tight ends Benjamin Watson (knee) and Nick Boyle (toe) were dealing with lingering issues.

But all of them were full participants as the Ravens prepare to face the Green Bay Packers.

“Tons of guys have been dealing with nicks and bruises throughout the year, so the bye gave us a break to refresh our legs and gear up to try to make a run,” Campanaro said.

Rookie outside linebacker Tim Williams (thigh) and safety Chuck Clark (thigh) also returned as full participants after missing the matchup with the Titans.

The only player who didn’t practice Wednesday was cornerback Jimmy Smith, who has been limited in practice throughout the season because of Achilles tendonitis. Despite the injury, Smith has still played every game and has been one of the best cornerbacks in the NFL this year.

Stanley a Limited Participant

The only new addition to the injury report was left tackle Ronnie Stanley, who was limited with a concussion.

Stanley could have suffered the concussion against the Titans, and he will have to clear the league’s concussion protocol to return to action.

If Stanley were out, then James Hurst would likely slide from left guard to left tackle. The Ravens also signed offensive tackle Andrew Donnal this week as another option.

Woodhead Continues to Practice

Veteran running back Danny Woodhead continued to practice during the portion open to the media and is eligible to be activated from injured reserve for the first time this week. He hasn’t played since injuring his hamstring on the opening drive of Week 1.

Woodhead wasn’t listed on the injury report because he isn’t on the 53-man roster, and the Ravens have not said whether they plan to activate him this week.

Woodhead didn’t give any hints when he talked with the media.

“I'm going to stay in my lane," Woodhead said. "We'll see where it takes us."

Packers Without Top Two Running Backs

The Packers are dealing with some significant injuries of their own.

In addition to losing starting quarterback Aaron Rodgers (broken collarbone) a few weeks ago, they also saw their top two running backs, Ty Montgomery (ribs) and Aaron Jones (knee), go down last week. Jones and Montgomery both didn’t practice Wednesday.

Offensive tackle Bryan Bulaga (knee) and safety Morgan Burnett (groin) didn’t practice either.

Quarterback Brett Hundley, who took over for Rodgers, suffered a hamstring injury last week but he was a full participant in practice.

Linebackers Nick Perry (foot) and Ahmad Brooks (back), and cornerback Kevin King (shoulder) and guard Justin McCray (ankle) were all limited in practice.
