Paint the State

The Ravens "Paint the State Purple" Mural Program will seek to highlight the connection the Ravens have formed with communities across the state of Maryland by engaging artists to not only represent the team, but the town, city or location in which the artwork will appear.

Artist: Megan Lewis

This mural celebrates the beauty that comes from nurturing our youth. The boy is at the center, surrounded by a blooming garden. He is the light, the joy, the reason it flourishes. It's a reminder that when we pour into young people, everything around them thrives. Behind him, silhouettes show two sides of Baltimore: one of community, music, and connection, and the other of Ravens football just moments before a winning play.

Towson, MD (Baltimore County)

Artist: Jordan Lawson

The mural theme is inspired by the well-known staples of the Towson Community. Lawson put an emphasis on the most iconic buildings that Towson is known for including the Towson Courthouse, representing Towson as the county seat; and Johnny Unitas Stadium, which honors the iconic Baltimore Colt and Ravens Ring of Honor inductee. The focal point of the mural is a fan descending into the city with balloons spelling R-A-V-E-N-S, intended to give off a nostalgic childhood feeling of being carefree, which Lawson emphasizes throughout his portfolio. The feature also allowed him to make the art interactive as there is space for fans to pose as if they are holding the balloons as well. The mural adorns the northern wall of the Dulaney Plaza shopping center, on the corner of Dulaney Valley Rd. and Fairmount Ave across from the Towson Town Center.
