The Ravens have a rich history of helping kickers land in the NFL. Could U.S. women's soccer star Carli Lloyd be next?
Lloyd attended Tuesday's Ravens-Eagles joint practice and booted some field goals afterwards, including this stunning 55-yard blast.
As Lloyd noted, she got tips from Ravens kicker Justin Tucker, Eagles kicker Jake Elliott and Ravens Assistant Special Teams Coach Randy Brown. Morgan Cox snapped the ball, Sam Koch held and Lloyd drilled it through the uprights. That voice you hear loudly celebrating the kick is Tucker.
Lloyd also apparently hit some 40-yard field goals without any trouble, and her 55-yarder had room to spare.
I'm not sure how much the "tips" helped or whether Lloyd's unbelievable natural kicking talent just took over. But imagine how good she could be with a little more coaching.
Lloyd is a big Eagles fan after growing up in Delran, about a half hour east of Philadelphia in New Jersey. She scored three goals in the 2019 World Cup and has 113 in her career, seventh all-time in women's soccer history. She's a two-time FIFA Player of the Year and two-time World Cup champion.
